Alkistis Protopsalti sings “S’agapo”, a Greek traditional folk song which in English means “I love you”. The song is also known as ‘S’agapo giati eisai oraia“, meaning “I love you because you are beautiful”.

“S’agapo” is one of the traditional, most beloved songs ever…As universal as its title is: I Love You – by coincidence or not, this song doesn’t remember its authors…Lyrics and music belong to anyone and they are for everyone, to sing it, to listen to it, to long, to cry with it, or smile…as love does to all of us.

The creators of the song are unknown, simply because the song is considered born by the folk tradition of the Greeks; according to one version, the song is written by Aristidis Moschos a composer of folk music, but it’s not confirmed.
