Akou Vre File – Notis Sfakianakis

Notis Sfakianakis sings the song Akou vre file, an old Greek song which translates to ” Listen my friend” in English.

Akou vre file is an older Greek song originally sung by Stratos Dionisiou, a legendary Greek singer. It is probably one of the most renowned and beloved songs in Greek music since it talks about a famous issue: betrayal in love. Don’t believe the eyes that cry, it’s dangerous to love them.

They will  hurt you and you will be in pain, are some of the lyrics of the song. As with many laika songs, the main subject is the same: love, pain, break up, betrayals. Greek music loves to tell stories about things that did not go well, about the pain of love. After all, Greeks seem to find relief through these songs.

Akou vre file is composed by Takis Soukas and the lyrics are written by Kostas Kofiniotis. We will be posting the original performance by Stratos Dionisiou as well. It’s up to you to decide which one you like the best.
