According to a recent article published in Turkish newspapers, Haris Alexiou’s name will be given to a street in Izmir (Smyrne) at the seaside borders of Turkey with Greece.
Haris Alexiou is a very popular Greek singer in Turkey, and therefore the officials of the city of Izmir decided to honor the singer, giving her name to one of the city streets.
It is also worth mentioning that Haris Alexiou is partially originated from Minor Asia and the city of Izmir, as her grandmother was from this region.
